Tags are your own labels for mentions. For example, "Important", "For the report", "Customer complaints", "Competitors". Tags make it easy to filter the feed, select mentions for reports and analytics, and distribute work in the team.
LOOQME has two ways of tagging:
- manual — you choose which mentions to tag yourself (this article is about it);
- automatic — the tag is added automatically to all mentions that match a given query (see the article "Automatic AI Tags: How to Set Up Automatic Tagging").
How to open the tag list for a mention
- Find the mention you need in the "Mentions" feed.
- Click "+ Add Tag" (1) under the mention title. If the mention already has tags, click the "+" button next to them.
- The "Tags" window opens. At the top, it shows how many tags of the available limit are already used: "Used N/10 of the tags" (2).
- If there are no tags yet, click "Add new tag" (3).
How to create a new tag
- In the "Tags" window, click "Add new tag".
- In the "Name" field (1), enter the tag name, for example "Important".
- Click the "Color" circle (2) and choose the tag color on the palette. Color helps you quickly distinguish tags in the feed.
- Make sure the "manual tagging" tab (3) is selected. The "automatic tagging" tab (4) is used for AI tags.
- In the "Add Tag" block (5), choose what to tag:
- "Only for selected news" — only this publication;
- "The news and all of its duplicates" — this publication and all its duplicates (reprints).
- Click "Add" (6). The message "Tag added." appears.
How to tag a mention
After creation, the tag appears in the workspace tag list. To tag a mention with it:
- Open the "Tags" window on the mention you need ("+ Add Tag" or "+").
- Tick the tag you need (2). You can select several tags at once.
- Click "Apply" (4).
- In the "Confirm changes" window, click "Apply changes". The message "The selected tag has been added to all checked mentions" appears.
| # | Element | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | "Used N/10 of the tags" | How many tags of the available limit have been created in the workspace. |
| 2 | Tag with a checkbox | A tick means the tag will be added to the mention. The number of mentions with this tag is shown in brackets. |
| 3 | 🗑 and ✎ icons | Appear on hover: delete the tag or edit it. |
| 4 | "Apply" | Saves the tag selection for the mention. |
| 5 | "Add new tag" | Create another tag. |
After that, the tag appears on the mention card as a colored label (1). The "+" button (2) next to it lets you add more tags.
How to remove a tag from a mention
- Click ✕ on the tag label on the mention card; or
- open the "Tags" window, untick the tag and click "Apply".
Other ways to add a tag
- From the mention view panel. Open the mention and click "Tags" in the actions bar at the bottom.
- In bulk. Select several mentions with checkboxes and click the "Tags" icon in the bulk actions panel. Learn more in the article "Bulk Actions: How to Work With Several Mentions at Once".
Agree with your team on a single set of tags and their colors: for example, red — "Urgent", green — "For the report". This makes the feed easier to read and reports and analytics easier to compile.
Frequently asked questions
How many tags can I create?
The limit depends on your plan. The current value is shown in the "Tags" window ("Used N/M of the tags"), under the "Tag" filter and on the "Data and limits" page. Both manual and automatic tags count toward the limit.
I created a tag, but it didn't appear on the mention. Why?
A created tag is added to the workspace tag list. To add it to a mention, open the "Tags" window, tick the tag, click "Apply" and confirm the changes.
What does "The news and all of its duplicates" mean?
The tag will be added not only to this publication but also to all its duplicates — reprints of the same material in other sources. This is convenient if you want to include all reprints in a report.
How do I change a tag's name or color?
Open the "Tags" window, hover over the tag and click ✎. In the "Edit tag" window, change the name or color and click "Save". You can also convert a manual tag into an automatic one here.
How do I find all mentions with a certain tag?
Use the "Tag" filter in the feed filter panel. Learn more in the article "How to Filter Mentions by Tags, Edit and Delete Tags".
