An automatic (AI) tag is added automatically to all mentions that match a given query. For example, the "Customer complaints" tag can automatically mark all publications where customers complain about service. The tag query is composed by the AI assistant based on your plain-language description — you don't need to know search query syntax.

Automatic tags are useful when you need to constantly track a certain subtopic within your keywords: complaints, competitor mentions, products, events, regions, etc.

Step 1. Start creating a tag

  1. Open the tag creation window in one of these ways:
    • on any mention, click "+ Add Tag" → "Add new tag";
    • or open the feed filter panel and click ⊕ "Used N/10" under the "Tag" filter.
  2. Enter the tag name (1) and choose a color if you wish.
  3. Go to the "automatic tagging" tab (2). A hint appears: "Next, you will proceed to create a query that will be used for automatic tagging." (3).
  4. Click "Continue" (4).

Step 2. Describe which mentions to tag

The "Create new tag" page opens: on the left — a chat with the AI assistant, on the right — the tag parameters. In the chat field (1), write which mentions need to be tagged. For example:

"Tag mentions where customers complain about the support service, slow response or poor service. Add English words: complaint, customer service, poor service."

The assistant will form a query and explain (2) what exactly it finds and how it works.

# Element What it is for
1 Chat field Describe which mentions to tag or refine the query.
2 AI explanation What the query finds and how it works.
3 "Tagging" From which period to add the tag: only to new mentions or also to already collected ones (see the table below).
4 "Color" The color of the tag label in the feed.
5 "Notify me when the tags are applied" You will receive an alert when the tag has been added to already collected mentions. Appears if a period in the past is selected.
6 Query body The words and phrases by which the tag is added. "AND" — both conditions, "OR" — one is enough.
7 "Usual Query" and "Mentions" tabs The technical query text and a preview of the mentions that will get the tag. The number on the "Mentions" tab is how many mentions were found.
8 "Create" Saves the tag and starts automatic tagging.
9 "Mentions collected", "Copy", "Created" The status of collecting examples, copying the query and the history of your dialogues with the assistant.

Step 3. Choose the tagging period

In the "Tagging" field (3), choose which mentions to tag:

Option What will happen
From the current moment The tag will be added only to new mentions that arrive after the tag is created.
For yesterday The tag will be added to matching mentions for the selected period in the past, as well as to all new mentions.
For the past week
For the past month
For the past 3 months
For the past 6 months
For the past year
For the past 2 years

If you choose a period in the past, tick "Notify me when the tags are applied" — this way you will know when you can move on to analysis.

Step 4. Check the query and sample mentions

  1. Open the "Usual Query" tab (1) — it shows the technical text of the query (2). Check whether it contains words in all the languages you need.
  2. Open the "Mentions" tab (3) — it shows how many mentions were found.

The "Mentions" tab shows a preview (1): the tag name, the number of mentions (2) and a list of publications where the found words are highlighted in green (3). You can change the preview period in the list on the right.

The preview is not the complete result; it only shows which mentions will get the tag. If there is a lot of noise among the examples, refine the query in the chat (for example, "exclude publications about job vacancies"). If 0 mentions are found, broaden the query or check the language.

If you need mentions in several languages, give example words in each language in the request. For example, instead of "languages: Ukrainian and English", write "add English words: complaint, poor service". Then check the "Usual Query" tab.

Step 5. Create the tag

  1. Click "Create" (4).
  2. You will return to the feed, and the message "Tag added." appears.
  3. The tag appears on mentions that match the query — just like a manual tag. If a period in the past is selected, tagging already collected mentions may take some time.

How to change an automatic tag

  1. On any mention, open the "Tags" window ("+ Add Tag" or "+").
  2. Hover over the automatic tag and click ✎.
  3. A page with the tag name (1) and the entire previous dialogue opens. Continue the dialogue in the chat (2) to refine the query.
  4. If needed, change the "Tagging" period (3) and check the query body (4).
  5. Click "Save" (5). To exit without changes, click "Back".

Frequently asked questions

How is an automatic tag different from a manual one?

You add a manual tag to mentions yourself. An automatic tag is added by the system to all mentions that match the query — both new ones and (if you choose) those already collected for the selected period.

Does an automatic tag count toward the tag limit?

Yes. The "Used N/M of the tags" counter includes both manual and automatic tags.

Can I remove an automatic tag from an individual mention?

Yes, click ✕ on the tag label on the mention card — just like for a manual tag.

Can I convert a manual tag into an automatic one?

Yes. Open the "Tags" window, hover over the tag, click ✎ and go to the "automatic tagging" tab in the "Edit Tag" window.

The tag marks unnecessary mentions. What should I do?

Open tag editing (✎) and ask the assistant to narrow down the query: add exclusions or limit the language. Check the "Mentions" tab and save the changes. If you can't set up an accurate query, write to the support chat.

How do I find all mentions with an automatic tag?

Use the "Tag" filter in the feed filter panel — it works the same way for manual and automatic tags.

If you need more help, write to the support chat or contact your manager.
