The LOOQME AI assistant composes search queries for keywords and automatic tags based on your description in plain language. How accurate the mentions in your feed are depends on how you phrase the task. This article collects practical tips and ready-made wording examples.

What you must include in the request

What to include Why Example
Monitored object The main thing that must be in the mention "the Nova Poshta brand", "the Minister of Health", "the e-scooter market"
Spelling variants So as not to miss mentions in Latin script, with typos or under an old name "Нова пошта, Nova Poshta, NP"
Language To get mentions only in the languages you need "Ukrainian and English"
Geography To filter out mentions from other countries "only Ukraine", "Ukraine and Poland"
Source types If you are interested only in media or only in social media "only online media", "only social media"
Exclusions To remove "noise" — name coincidences, irrelevant topics "no job vacancies or ads", "exclude sports"

Wording examples

Brand or company

"I want to monitor mentions of the Nova Poshta company in Ukrainian media and social media. Name variants: Нова пошта, Nova Poshta, Новапошта. Languages — Ukrainian and English. Exclude job vacancies and job ads."

Public figure

"Monitor mentions of Olena Petrenko, director of company X. Take into account the transliteration Olena Petrenko / Олена Петренко. I only need mentions where she is mentioned together with company X."

For people with common first and last names, always add context: position, company, field of activity. Otherwise, mentions of namesakes will get into the feed.

Event or newsworthy occasion

"Find mentions of the opening of the new terminal at Boryspil airport. Language — Ukrainian. Media only."

For events, the period matters: if the occasion was several weeks ago, change the preview period on the "Mentions" tab to see relevant publications.

Topic or market

"Mentions of the electric car market in Ukraine: sales, prices, charging stations. Language — Ukrainian."

Broad topics (for example, "banks", "energy", "education") collect thousands of mentions, many of them irrelevant, and quickly use up the monthly mention limit. Split such a topic into several narrower keywords: separately for specific companies, products or subtopics.

Automatic tag

"Tag mentions where customers complain about delivery or refunds. Words: complaint, not delivered, delay, refund, скарга, затримка."

How to refine the query

After the assistant's first answer, review the explanation, the query body and the sample mentions on the "Mentions" tab. If something is wrong, continue the dialogue:

  • Too much noise: "Exclude publications about sports and the football club with the same name".
  • Missing mentions: "Add the English name variant: Nova Post".
  • Wrong language: "Keep only Ukrainian".
  • Wrong geography: "Search only in sources from Ukraine".

Make one change per message and name specific words. For example, instead of "add English", write "add English words: complaint, delivery delay". This way the assistant will understand more precisely what needs to be changed.

How to check the result

  1. Read the assistant's explanation in the chat. It says what the query finds and how it narrows down the search.
  2. Check the query body on the "Ai Query" tab. "AND" means both conditions must be met, "OR" means one of them is enough.
  3. Check the language and geography. Make sure the assistant added exactly the languages and countries you asked for.
  4. Review the examples on the "Mentions" tab. Found words are highlighted in the publication text. If there is a lot of noise among the examples, refine the query.
  5. Assess the number of mentions. A very large number is a sign that the query is too broad. Zero or a few mentions means the query may be too narrow or the topic was active earlier.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know special search query syntax?

No. Describe the task in plain language — the assistant will form the technical query itself. You can view it on the "Usual Query" tab, but you don't need to edit it manually.

How do I read the text on the "Usual Query" tab?

It is a search query written with LOOQME operators: AND, OR, AND NOT, quotes for phrases, * for any ending, /…/ for morphology and fields such as source_type: or language_code:. An explanation of each operator with examples is in the article "Search Query Language: Operators, Morphology and Fields" (the "LOOQME Database Search" section). If you need a complex query that is hard for the assistant to formulate, write to the support chat.

What language should I write to the assistant in?

Write in whatever language is convenient for you. Specify the language of the mentions you want to find separately, and give words in other languages directly in the request.

The assistant misunderstood my refinement. What should I do?

Don't save the result. Phrase the refinement differently — shorter and more specific, with example words. If you can't get the result you need, write to the support chat: specialists will help compose the query.

When is it better to contact support instead of using the assistant?

When the topic is complex or critical: reputational risks, crisis situations, names that coincide with common words, competitor monitoring with a large number of mentions. Support will compose and check the query manually.

If you need more help, write to the support chat or contact your manager.
