In the "Search" section (as well as in queries for tags and alerts), you can use a special query language: operators, grouping, morphology and fields. This lets you find exactly the publications you need and filter out the rest. Below is a complete reference with examples. The same reference can be opened right on the search page with the "Instruction" button.
If you don't want to deal with operators, use the "AI query" tab — the AI assistant will compose the query based on your plain-language description.
A simple query: 3 rules
| Rule | Example |
|---|---|
| Separate spelling variants with a space — publications with any of them will be found | приватбанк privatbank |
| Put multi-word names in quotes | "privat bank" |
| Replace a changing ending with an asterisk * | privatbank* |
Together: privatbank* "privat bank*" приватбанк* "приват банк*"
Operators
| Operator | What it does | Example |
|---|---|---|
OR or a space |
Any of the words | rolex OR ролекс |
AND |
All words are present in the publication at any distance | (rolex ролекс*) AND (sale* продаж*) |
AND NOT |
Exclude publications containing the specified words | (bmw бмв) AND NOT (accident* crash*) |
( ) |
Grouping of words and conditions | ((exhibition* expo*) AND (art painting* artist*)) AND NOT (school*) |
" " |
Words next to each other, as a phrase | "fashion show*" |
" "~N |
Words in quotes no more than N words apart | "(interview* інтерв*) (Huawei Хуав*)"~5 |
Simple morphology
| Operator | What it does | Example |
|---|---|---|
* |
Any number of any characters (usually instead of an ending) | articulat* |
? |
Any single character (for alternating letters) | укра?н* |
Complex morphology
Complex morphology is used for more precise search. Its main difference: each word must be enclosed in slashes — /word/.
| Operator | What it does | Example |
|---|---|---|
[ ] |
Alternation of one letter in a word (a more precise replacement for ?) | /Он[еє]шко/ |
.{min,max} |
From min to max of any characters (a more precise replacement for *) | /Укра[иії]н.{1,2}/ |
? |
The preceding character or group is optional | /comm?ent.{0,3}/ |
. |
Any single letter or character | /В.?ячеслав/ |
Examples of queries with complex morphology
- A name with an apostrophe (В'ячеслав Лізар, Вячеслав Лизарь):
"/В.?ячеслав.{0,4}/ /Л[иі]зар.{0,3}/" - An institution name (Ministry of Health of Ukraine, МОЗ):
"/м[іи]н[іи]стерств.{1,2}/ /охор[оа]н[иі]/ /здоров.?я/" МОЗ - Words at a distance (a film or series premiere):
"/premi[eè]re.{0,1}/ (/film.{0,1}/ /series/)"~5
Fields: where exactly to search

Search only in titles | title:privatbank* |

Query templates
On the search page, click "Company Search" or "Person Search" — a draft appears in the field. Replace the examples with your own data; the hint lines in angle brackets <<< >>> can be kept or deleted.
- The company or brand name and its variants.
- Misspelled variants, slang names, unique hashtags or media campaign names.
- Additional variants (for example, account names or brand hashtags).
- Exclusions with AND NOT — words you don't want in publications.
- Click the search button.
Tips
- Always add variants in Latin and Cyrillic, as well as common misspellings.
- For common words and surnames, add context with AND or the ~N distance; otherwise there will be too many results.
- Check the brackets: every opening bracket must be closed.
- Start with a simple query, look at the results and gradually add exclusions.
Frequently asked questions
Is letter case taken into account?
Write the query in any case. To be safe, specify the main spelling variants of the name.
Can I use such a query for a keyword?
Yes. The query language is the same as for keywords, tags and alerts. You can send a finished query to the support chat so we can set up a keyword based on it.
How is * different from .{min, max}?
* replaces any number of characters and may capture unwanted words (for example, cat* will find both "cats" and "catalog"). /cat.{0,1}/ limits the number of characters and gives a more precise result.
If you need more help, write to the support chat or contact your manager.
