The "Social Media Analytics" tab contains charts based only on social media mentions: number of mentions and authors, audience engagement, sentiment, share of voice, the most active authors and platforms. To open it, click the second icon from the left (with people silhouettes) in the "Analytics" section.

Dynamics and key metrics

Social Media Analytics: dynamics metric selector, Article Count, Authors Count, Engagement Sum, grouping, NSR and Sentiment Distribution

# Element What it means
1 "Social Media Analytics" tab The second icon in the row of analytics tabs.
2 Choosing the dynamics metric Click the word after "Dynamics of" to choose what the chart shows: mentions, engagement, source audience or potential views.
3 Key metrics "Article Count" on social media, "Authors Count" (how many different authors mentioned you) and "Engagement Sum" (the total audience reaction to mentions: likes, comments, reposts).
4 Grouping By days, by weeks, by months or automatically.
5 NSR An index of the ratio of positive to negative mentions (see below).
6 Sentiment distribution The share of negative, neutral and positive mentions together with the NSR value.

What NSR is

NSR (Net Sentiment Rate) is the ratio of positive to negative mentions. It helps you understand how the audience reacts to your brand or individual events. NSR is calculated as follows:

NSR = (Positive − Negative) / (Positive + Negative) × 100

For example, if there were 138 positive and 23 negative mentions for the period, NSR = (138 − 23) / (138 + 23) × 100 ≈ 71.

  • NSR close to 100 — almost all emotionally colored mentions are positive;
  • NSR close to 0 — positive and negative are equal;
  • NSR below 0 — there are more negative mentions than positive ones.

Neutral mentions are not taken into account in the NSR calculation — the index shows only the balance between positive and negative.

Frequently asked questions

How is "Authors Count" different from "Article Count"?

One author can mention you several times. "Article Count" counts all mentions, while "Authors Count" counts how many different people or pages published them.

What is "Engagement Sum"?

The total audience reaction to mentions: likes, comments, reposts. The higher the engagement, the more actively people interact with publications about you.

Why is NSR high even though there are many negative mentions?

NSR compares positive and negative with each other. If there are significantly more positive mentions than negative ones, NSR will be high even with a large amount of negative. Also look at the absolute "Negative" and "Positive" values next to NSR.

How do I view analytics for only one social network?

In the filter panel on the left, select the source you need in the "Source" filter or the type in the "Source Type" filter.

If you need more help, write to the support chat or contact your manager.
