The "Media Analytics" tab shows charts based only on mentions in traditional media (online outlets, news agencies, print, radio, TV). Here you will find the audience of outlets, the sentiment and role of mentions, media levels, regions, as well as the MV, MFI and MQ media performance indices. To open the tab, click the third icon from the left in the "Analytics" section.

Media Effectiveness: the MV, MFI and MQ indices

The "Media performance" table shows the number of mentions and three indices for each keyword, which help you assess not only the quantity but also the quality of your media presence.

The Media Effectiveness table: Article Count and the MV, MFI and MQ indices for each keyword

# Metric What it means
1 "Media Analytics" tab The third icon in the row of analytics tabs.
2 Article Count How many times your brand, product or service was mentioned during the selected period.
3 MV (Media Visibility Index) An index of a company's or brand's visibility in the media and of the quality of media coverage. It takes into account publication parameters (role of the mention, sentiment) and source parameters (media type and level).
4 MFI (Media Favourability Index) An index of how favorable publications about a company or brand are, taking their sentiment into account — the ratio of positive to negative messages.
5 MQ (Media Quality Index) An index of communication quality in traditional media. It assesses the quality of publications for the selected period for the entire set of mentions and is based on publication parameters (role, sentiment) and outlet parameters (media type and level).

Compare the indices of your brand and competitors for the same period: a large number of mentions with a low MQ may mean that you are written about a lot, but mostly in passing or in little-known outlets.

Frequently asked questions

What does "MV" next to a keyword in a mention card mean?

It is the value of the MV (Media Visibility) index for the mention — how visible this publication is, taking into account the role, sentiment, type and level of the outlet.

How is MFI different from NSR?

Both metrics assess the balance of positive and negative mentions. NSR is used in social media analytics, and MFI is used in the Media Effectiveness table for traditional media.

What are media levels?

A classification of outlets by reach and significance: national, regional, TOP-100, foreign and unpopular. The level affects the MV and MQ indices.

Why are there no social media mentions on this tab?

The "Media Analytics" tab shows only media. Social media is on the "Social Media Analytics" tab, and everything together is on the "General Analytics" tab.
