Q Insight analyzes exactly the mentions shown in your feed at the moment you ask the question. So the quality of the answer depends directly on the selection: the more precisely the filters are set, the more specific and useful the answer will be. If no filters are applied, Q Insight will analyze all mentions for the selected period, and the answer may be too general.

In short: select the period → filter the feed by keyword, sentiment, source type, etc. → check the publication counter (up to 5,000) → open Q Insight and ask your question.

Step 1. Select the period

Click the dates in the top right corner (under the workspace name) and select the period you need: "Today", "Yesterday", "Week", "Month", "Quarter" or any range in the calendar. Click "Apply".

Step 2. Filter the mentions

Click the filter icon on the left above the feed — the filter panel opens.

Feed filter panel: Keyword, Tag, Source Type, Sentiment, Role, Geography

The most useful filters for analysis in Q Insight:

Filter When to use it Example
Keyword To analyze only mentions of a specific brand, product or person. Only your brand, without competitors.
Sentiment To focus on complaints or positive feedback. "Negative" — for analyzing complaints.
Source Type / Source To compare media and social media or analyze specific platforms. Only social media or only online media.
Tag To analyze mentions by your topics. The "Customer complaints" tag.
Role To discard episodic mentions and keep those where the brand is the main subject. Only mentions where the brand is at the center of the publication.
Geography, Language, Mention Type To narrow down the selection by region, language or format. Only Ukrainian-language publications.

Learn more about each filter in the articles of the "Mentions Feed" section.

Step 3. Check the number of publications

Active filters above the feed: filter chip, "Clear" button and the publication counter

  1. Applied filters are shown above the feed as chips (1). To remove a filter, click ✕ on the chip; to reset all of them, click "Clear" (2).
  2. The counter (3) shows how many keywords and publications are in the selection, for example "3 Keyword/61 publications".
  3. Make sure there are no more than 5,000 publications — this is the maximum for one analysis. If the selection is larger, Q Insight will still analyze only 5,000 of the mentions: important publications may be left out and unimportant ones included. So shorten the period or add filters.

Step 4. Ask a question

Click "Q Insight" (2) and write your question. How best to phrase it is explained in the article "How to Ask Q Insight Questions: Examples From Simple to Complex".

Tips for a better result

  • One selection — one task. For example, to analyze complaints on social media, select the brand keyword, the "Negative" sentiment, the "Social media" source type and the period you need.
  • Compare brands with separate requests. For a comparative analysis of two brands, it is better to run a separate analysis for each and then compare the conclusions.
  • Only text mentions are analyzed. Videos, images and publications without text are not taken into account.
  • Save the filter set as a feed page if you regularly analyze the same selection: click "+" next to the feed tabs and turn on "Add selected filters". Learn more in the article about feed pages.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I don't apply filters?

Q Insight will analyze all mentions for the selected period. The answer may be too general, so it is better to narrow down the selection.

There are more than 5,000 mentions in the feed. What should I do?

Q Insight will still analyze only 5,000 mentions, and important publications may be left out. Shorten the period (for example, from a month to a week) or add filters — by keyword, sentiment, source type or tag.

Can I change the filters in the middle of a dialogue?

For a new selection, it is better to start a new chat (the ⋮ menu → "Create a new chat") so that answers don't mix the context of different selections.

If you need more help, write to the support chat or contact your manager.
