Sometimes you need to quickly check whether a specific publication got into your feed, or find all mentions with a word or phrase. For this, the feed has "Publication search". It searches only among mentions that are already in your feed for the selected period.
To search across the entire LOOQME database (including publications that are not in your feed), use the "Search" section in the top menu. Learn more in the "LOOQME Database Search" section of the knowledge base.
How to search the feed
- In the "Mentions" section, click the magnifying glass icon 🔍 "Publication search" (1) in the toolbar.
- Enter a word, phrase or query in the field (2).
- Click "Search" (5). The "Clear" button (4) erases the query, and the ⓘ icon (3) opens the search query instructions.
After the search, a "Search: …" filter appears above the feed. To cancel the search, click ✕ on it or the "Clear" button next to the counter.
How to write a query
| What you need to find | How to write it | Example |
|---|---|---|
| A word | Just enter the word | flight |
| A word in any form | Add * instead of the ending | flight* (flight, flights) |
| An exact phrase | Put the phrase in quotes | "stock market" |
| Both words | AND between the words | bank AND loan |
| Any of the words | OR between the words | bank OR "financial institution" |
| Without a certain word | AND NOT | bank AND NOT robbery |
| A specific article by link | url: and the full link | url:https://site.com/news/article-123/ |
The search takes into account not only the title but also the text, author, link and other publication data.
How to check whether a specific article is in the feed
Method 1. By link (the most accurate)
- Copy the article link from your browser.
- In the feed, open "Publication search", type url: and paste the link without a space, for example
url:https://www.site.com/news/article/(1). - Click "Search" (2). A filter with your query (3) appears above the feed, the counter shows the number of publications found (4), and the found article remains in the feed (5).
Method 2. By a unique phrase
- Copy a unique word or phrase from the publication (for example, a company name or a quote).
- Enter the phrase in quotes in "Publication search", for example
"Turkish stock market", and click "Search".
Method 3. By source
- Open the filter panel → "Source" and enter the name or address of the website.
- Click ⊕ next to the source you need and review the mentions for the date you need.
Checklist if the article is not found
- Period. Extend the period by 1 day before and after the article's publication date. Try switching "By Date" to "Proceed".
- Duplicates. Turn on the "Duplicates" switch: the article may have been grouped as a duplicate of another publication.
- Filters. Click "Clear" to remove filters that may have hidden the article.
- Status. Check the "Deleted" status: the mention may have been deleted.
- Language version. If the website publishes articles in several languages, the system mainly stores the Ukrainian version. Try searching for the article by the link of another language version.
- Keyword. Make sure the article contains words from your keyword.
If the article is still not there, let us know: in the source menu of any mention from this website, select "Report a problem with this source" → "Missed article", or write to the support chat with a link to the article. We will check the source and help.
Frequently asked questions
How is "Publication search" different from the "Search" section?
"Publication search" searches only among the mentions in your feed. The "Search" section in the top menu searches across the entire LOOQME publication database, regardless of your workspace keywords.
Can I save a search query?
Yes. After searching, click "+" next to the "All Mentions" tab and keep the "Add selected filters" checkbox ticked — the query will be saved in a new feed page.
The search finds nothing even though the word is definitely in the article. Why?
Check the period and filters, and turn on "Duplicates". If you are searching for a phrase, make sure it is in quotes and written exactly as in the text. For words that change form, use * instead of the ending.
If you need more help, write to the support chat or contact your manager.
